The Work

No two landscapes ask for the same thing.

Every project has its own pathway toward betterment, shaped by the land, the people who care for it, and the life they hope to cultivate there. Whether I'm designing a productive front yard, restoring five acres of white oak woodland, reimagining an entire property, or helping a family grow a small annual vegetable garden, the process begins in the same place: the space where my head meets my heart.

Each space has a purpose. Each steward has a story. My work is to honor both, creating landscapes that are beautiful, functional, ecologically alive, and deeply connected to the people who call them home.

Traditional PNW Native Landscape

A half acre landscape overhaul-- taking the land from overgrown and over-looked, to a peaceful walk through of some of Oregon's most magical native plant options.

Highlights:

Oregon native edible plants in every zone of the property, so the owners can taste their way through their land.

The New PNW Yard

Our climate is changing, and the plants that once thrived in PNW yards, no longer suit as well. I marry traditional PNW native plants with the water sense of Northern Californian cultivars-- creating a landscape that is better suited for the ecological circumstances of today.

Highlight:

This landscape (like most I create) holds 80% of vegetation that serves at least three different usages: Biomass, edible, medicinal, connection (crafting/gifts).

White Oak Woodland Restoration

Restoring a neighborhood's shared White Oak Woodland was one of the greatest honors I have held. Invasives choking out one of Oregon's most precious ecosystems, and having limited resources for on-going maintenance and stewardship were my biggest obstacles. But with thoughtful permaculture planning, a new, welcoming, completely native ecosystem was brought back to life.

Highlight:

An extra-large walking path was installed, to reintroduce the beauty and importance of this space to the neighborhood. The children now have a place that is wild and free, safe from thorns and poison oak, where their imaginations can explore possibilities and their hearts can connect to the earth.

Fire Mitigation on 8 acres

Fire danger has been on an increase as our climate continues to drop rainfall and snow pack, Many land owners who once found peace with dense forests surrounding their home, now understand the imminent and real threat of fire devastation.

Highlight:

I was able to weave practicality, safety. beauty and ecological health together by curating vegetation islands throughout her property-- making my design's highest priorities not being a traditional landscaped site, but rather a curation of wildlife and human ecological wellness.
